About the exhibition

The print artist Munakata Shiko (1903–1975), recipient of the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale, garnered international acclaim as “the world-revered Munakata.” This exhibition, designed to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Munakata’s birth, introduces the artist’s diverse range of activities, including everything from important print works to book jackets and illustrations, commercial designs, and his film, TV, and radio appearances. It also reconsiders Munakata Shiko the Artist.
